About Us
The Alliance is proud to represent
the economic development interests of both the City
of Edwardsville and the Village of Glen Carbon.
The mission of the Alliance
is to implement economic development and employment
opportunities in the City of Edwardsville and the
Village of Glen Carbon for the benefit of the general
public and the citizens of the communities.
Primary funcitions for the Alliance
are:
- To increase the amount of
private sector investment in the communities;
- To strengthen the quality
of life in the communities
- To improve the competitiveness
of the two communities and the business of economic
development;
- To market the area effectively
to private sector investors both within and outside
the state;
- To involve the people of
the community in the efforts of The Alliance;
- To be a catalyst for long-term
community betterment through economic development
in the areas served by the communities;
- To promote the development
and adoption of uniform business zoning and licensing
codes in the association area;
- To promote cooperative efforts
in the solution of common problems of the communities;
- To promote and provide a
comprehensive capital economic development program;
and
- To increase employment opportunities
in communities.
Chartered as a not-for-profit
organization, we work with each community in marketing
and promoting the area for new business investments
and economic growth and development.
The Alliance maintains a close
working relationship with our local elected officials
and business community, and also with area-wide economic
development organizations, developers, site location
specialists and others involved in business development.
